In block 1 today, we finished James Hurst's short story, "The Scarlet Ibis." The themes of the story are subtle, but profound. In class tomorrow, we are going to put on our detective hats and do some LSI - Literary Scene Investigation: we'll dig into the text for clues on characterization as well as symbolism and theme. (Read like detectives).
Period 4: we will continue the story and our LSI. Remember that the art of reading well means to peer deeply into the story/text and find as many points of connection and understanding as possible.
ASSIGNMENTS FOR FRIDAY -
* Turn in any missing homework assignments, including journal entry on sibling rivalry and vocabulary word list.
* Vocabulary test 3
