We accomplished quite a bit in English IV today:
- We took the vocabulary quiz on the senior vocabulary list - week 11 today.
- We also learned about George Orwell, aka Eric Blair.
- We watched about half of a video on Orwell's life, information that is helpful to providing "stuff to talk about" when we discuss Orwell's writing.
- We looked at the Multicultural/New Historical Theories of Literary Criticism while reading about half of Orwell's essay, "Shooting an Elephant."
- We examined the ironic conflict that Orwell found himself in (your job is to define this conflict, and...)
