Today in class, we created SWIFTT posters to represent group analysis on the poem, "Do not Go Gentle" by Dylan Thomas.
Whereas most group posters were fairly heavy on the description of what is in the poem, vs. a more analytical/interpretive approach, some posters did move to a higher level and offer interpretation and explanation as to what the argument was and how the poem's argument is made! The sample poster on the left is an example of a poster that is more thorough than others!
We also saw that Huxley's essay, "Words and Behavior" fits much of what we see regarding the rhetoric of war coming out of Washington DC even today. VP Biden, who often makes statements people are sure not to forget--even VP Biden is sounding the war-bell. View this video here, if you don't believe it...

1) STUDY the quizlet list words (list 12). 2) Make a list of the different types of men in Thomas's poem. Explain why Thomas refers to them. Don't just list them. Explain why the narrator in Thomas' poem refers to them!
