The warrant here would be that if the work for this class is as important as the work you do for any other class (a fact established in argument above), then you ought to give it your best shot, and not see this work as "flotsam" and "jetsam", words here meaning, stuff you can safely ignore since a) Mr. Walters isn't looking, or b) "ain't nobody got time for that," meaning that we are all busy, but you are so busy that quality work isn't something you think you can commit to.
